Ubuntu Desktop Engineer at Canonical, Matthias Klose, announces that LibreOffice is being considered as an OpenOffice replacement in the upcoming Ubuntu 11.04 release, Natty Narwhal.
Earlier today on the ubuntu-devel mailing list, Klose explained that LibreOffice would be included in the Alpha 2 Natty Narwhal release for evaluation and possible inclusion into the final Ubuntu 11.04 release.
Klose points out that the LibreOffice packages need to be tested and gives instructions on how users can help test these packages.
More information on the LibreOffice inclusion and testing can be found on the ubuntu-devel mailing list.
