Troubleshooting the new Ubuntu Gnome release
|
On the PC
If you're running Ubuntu Gnome on physical hardware with a functioning OpenGL driver, it is best to upgrade quickly to Gnome 3.8. You can upgrade easily through the Launchpad PPA gnome3-team/gnome3 . Integrate the sources faster on the command line, as follows:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
Once the PPA is imported, you can upgrade to Gnome 3.8 seamlessly. In Synaptic, for example, you can just click Mark all updates . Use the following:
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
if you're more comfortable at the command line.
