PacketFence on Ubuntu
"I want to share with you the process of installing PacketFence on Ubuntu and then how it can be used from the command line to create a powerful network access control system," Jack Wallen says in his Install and Configure Packetfence on Ubuntu Linux article.
PacketFence is a free and open source network access control (NAC) system that was developed for distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS; however, as Wallen points out, it can still be installed on Ubuntu.
Wallen spent an entire weekend installing PacketFence on Ubuntu, and even describes the process as one of the single most challenging installation tasks he has ever attempted. That being said, Wallen emphasizes that installing and configuring PacketFence is still a time consuming task, but users now have an easy to follow guide to this process.
More information on installing and configuring PacketFence on Ubuntu can be found in Jack Wallen's guide.
