Blogging IS Contributing
If someone asks you, "How do you contribute to the Ubuntu Project?" and your answer is "I don't yet," you might want to reconsider your answer if you're already blogging about Ubuntu.
When you constructively blog about using Ubuntu and your experiences with the operating system, then you are contributing. To be perfectly honest, that's how I got started in contributing to the Ubuntu Project back in February 2009 with my very first blog entry about Ubuntu.
Having a personal blog out there in the vast regions of the Internet is awesome, but getting more people to read it is even better. Not an Ubuntu Member but you use Ubuntu and blog about it? Then take a look a getting your blog added to Ubuntu Weblogs. There are instructions on the page that will walk you through how to get your blog added there.
If you already are an Ubuntu Member, check out Planet Ubuntu, which includes instructions for adding your feed. I had to find someone to help me add my blog, so if you are an Ubuntu Member and find the process of adding your blog to the planet difficult, please don't hesitate to ask for help – you're not alone.
Also there is a whole Ubuntu Solar System made up of other team planets. If you belong to one of these teams, you might want to look into getting your blog added: http://planet.ubuntu.com/
I'll write more about Ubuntu Membership in my next blog post, but for now take a look at the list and see whether any of these planets are a good fit for you and your blog, then contact them and HAPPY BLOGGING!!!
