Building the Ubuntu Cloud Community
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to interview Ahmed Kamal, and introduce him to readers. Ahmed has been busy working on ways to build the Ubuntu Cloud community now he is taking those tools and educating users and contributers about Ubuntu Cloud.
Ahmed has been blogging away since the interview with topics that include: Free Ubuntu Server for a year at Amazon, Cloud on Cloud, UEC on EC2, PointnClick guide to running Ubuntu in the Cloud, Cloud Computing 101, OpenStack dev evn on EC2, Show off Ubuntu Desktop on Cloud, Cloud Computing 101 p2 and more.
However, that's not the only way to find out about Ubuntu Cloud. Ahmed is now holding a weekly online Ubuntu Cloud Q&A Meeting. These meetings will be held on Wednesdays, at 1500 UTC in the #ubuntu-cloud IRC channel on freenode.net. According to the meeting wiki page, topics for discussion include:
- General questions about using Ubuntu on the cloud.
- General questions about setting up a private cloud.
- General questions about joining and participating in the community.
- Planning work and initiatives in the community.
In addition to You In Ubuntu, Ahmed's blog and the weekly Cloud meeting, you can also find more about Ubuntu Cloud on the Facebook page as well as following ubuntucloud on twitter and identi.ca.
